Annotate 3 screenshots explaining what meaning is constructed in terms of genre, narrative and representation.

This scene is really important as it gives the audience our chosen genre. As our genre was horror we needed to add horror aspects into our credit sequence. This scene is also really important for our narrative because our film is based on numerous murders from a jealous teenage girl. Without this scene, horror probably wouldn't be the main genre and the whole narrative would change. We included this in our credit sequence so our target audience would know straight away that our genre is horror and that there would be a killing in our narrative - which then lets them feel a lot more interested and pulled in by our plot so it then makes them want to watch it. This clip has a strong meaning, it connotes anger, danger and trouble which will make the audience feel sympathy towards whoever was murdered and feel scared to what will follow this event.

This scene is also really important as it gives the audience an idea of main character and relationships. Although our genre is mainly horror, there are some aspects of romance within our film and we wanted to show this through our credit sequence. These two are pictured together most throughout our sequence the other actors and actresses are shown to be less significant which is what we wanted. In terms of narrative this scene is also important here. This scene and other scenes show how close these two are as a couple, and how happy they are together. This is used to suprise the audience when she is killed and he is put in the frame for her murder. This scene was edited to a gloomy and dull effect, this contradicts to the emotion on their faces where they are happy. This adds suspence as it is obvious something is about to go wrong. This clip is mainly important to show their relationship.

This scene is important as it shows the audience what happened the morning after. It also shows a lot in terms of emotion as he looks confused and dazed. Flashbacks are a big part of our credit sequence and film also. So including a lot of these scenes was important to present the flashbacks to the audience. This is really important for the narrative also as our film frames him as the murderer, as he was last with her and first to find her, the audience automatically suspect him. This scene is also good in terms of genre as when he glances over at her on the floor you can see blood across her neck. Blood is common in horror films so we wanted to include it to make our genre clear to the target audience. We needed to include all important parts of the narrative in our credit sequence so these 3 screenshotted scenes were the most important as they have the most important meanings.
