Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Our full product has progressed massively. Our preliminary task included incorrect white balance which made the filming look bad and unproffessional. In our full product the white balance was controlled and we got the natural and normal tones we needed. Also, in our preliminary there were a lot of out of focus shots, like the one on the left, which were unneccessary. In the full product, we all tried to make sure that every shot was in focus. The only shots out of focus are the ones we planned to make out of focus and these were included within the party scenes. This blurry effect was used to emphasise how bad the main character felt the morning after and how he was struggling to piece together events. This change between the preliminary and main product is important as it shows how much we have learnt about camera work and how much focus we have for our final piece.
In our preliminary, there were a few continuity issues. There are not any obvious issues but some that we could learn from. As the girl walks through the door she has a phone in her back pocket, as she leaves she doesn't. This is due to some problems during filming. However, we didn't address this and kept the preliminary how it was without fixing it. After we realised there were problems with the preliminary, we made sure we stuck to all the rules when we filmed our main because we knew this was very important. We did this successfully and everything went well when we filmed and edited our last final task. As well as visual improvement, there is sound improvements and editing improvements. Our final task shows a much more skillful product than our preliminary. The sound in our preliminary had slight problems as you could hear unnesseccary ambient sound. In our main task we knew how to remove and edit over this sound to create a more proffessional and creative piece. Through making two products with my group (preliminary and final) I feel I have learnt a lot about media and existing products and found that there is always room for improvement. Also that there will be problems during filming but they can always be resolved and fixed
