How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our media product represents the social group of young high school teenagers. This is presented by the use of actors and actresses. All these actors are aged between 16-17. Our main protagonist is a male, so the social group could be presented as maled dominated. Despite this, all the other characters are female so the social group could also be portrayed as female. The party scene easily presents this teenage social group as they are drinking alcohol - one is shown hungover in the morning dazed and confused. As well as this the social group is shown by the use of two actors who are in a relationship. This relationship is easily shown by the use of camera work and editing. The camera work includes many medium shots which show the main characters holding eachother close. Also many shots within our credit sequence show them together numerous amounts of times. Our target audience would be interested in this film as our target audience is at a similar age to our chosen actors and actresses - we found that actors played a huge role in audience. Our credit sequence would appeal to our target audience with the use of the track which fits the social group. The track is a popular and well known song amongst this age group as well as other groups.
