Blumhouse Productions is the company founded and run by Jason Blum who created horror films such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister, The Purge and Dark Skies. Blumhouse has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures. Blumhouse’s credits began with Paranormal Activity which was made for $15,000. The film was released by Paramount Pictures and produced over $193 million around the world. Blumhouse produced the Paranormal sequels, Insidious which grossed over $97 million worldwide on a budget of $1.5m. Blumhouse is an extremely successful film company and have created some of the most successful horror films. Jason Blum won the Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Television Movie he also won the Stanley Kramer award for The Normal Heart (2014).
